 Update from The Downtown Chipley Merchants

The Downtown Chipley Merchants recently held a series of Strategic Planning Sessions to develop short and long-range plans for our business community.

Our Vision Statement:

Historically preserved, the Downtown Chipley area is an attractive, prosperous, diverse community of businesses and individuals committed to preserving our heritage, our communities, and our economic prosperity.

Our Mission Statement:

A network of established merchants seeking to revitalize, energize, and grow the economy of Downtown Chipley.

We have recently launched www.DowntownChipley.com to reach potential customers traveling to the Panhandle on vacation and market Chipley as an Excursion Destination.

The Downtown Merchants have joined to promote a Value Card Program.

We are striving to appeal to local customers by convincing them that they can find real value and variety in their own back yard, with no need to travel to Dothan or Panama City to shop when we have a thriving shopping district right here at home.

We are in the early stages of planning for our Christmas Festival to be held in Downtown Chipley, December 6, 2008.  This promises to be the best ever with entertainment, local artist displaying their work in area businesses, decorating contests, refreshments, and lots more.

The Downtown Merchants meet the First Tuesday and Third Thursday of each month. Check our web site for times and locations.
