More Merchants Joining Forces

New merchants are joining the weekly meetings of the recently formed 'Historic Downtown Chipley Merchant's Association'.

At their May 6 meeting, downtown Chipley business owners said they are already seeing some benefits from being on the new web site advertising the downtown area www.downtownchipley.com. 

 Provided by The Goulding Agency, the web site gives businesses the opportunity to let the public know about their offerings, at no charge to that businesses, for one full year.

President of The Goulding Agency Paul Goulding told attendees that letting the people know you are in business is simply a part of 'Marketing 101'. 

Downtown businesses interested in advertising on the web site can contact Goulding at gouldingagency@bellsouth.net or speak to other downtown merchants for information.

Business leaders are looking at ways to attract shoppers to the downtown area,  including holding special events.  In past meetings business owners have voiced concern over the lack of retail business in the downtown area and are looking at ways to attract business to the area.

The next meeting of the downtown business association will be Tuesday, May 13 at New Beginning (1367-B South Railroad Ave) in Historic Downtown Chipley.
